Why I Love Goodreads

And why you should join today!

If you don't know what Goodreads is or have been living under a rock like I was let me take a few minutes to explain. The app is where you can review books, manage your want to read list, have a reading challenge, follow friends, get information on the newest releases, and book suggestions.

Before I discovered Goodreads I had a never ending list of books on my phone and tried to track how many I had read, what I liked and didn't like. When I started using the app everything changed, it managed all of my reading for me.

While I continue to gush about Goodreads lets dive into everything you can do!

Suggestions: When you first sign up it asks what type of books you like to read and also populates a list of suggestions so it understands reading habits and can feed you books that you are interested in. Once you have established this with the program your feed will start to show you books based on what you have read, what genres you like and authors you enjoy. The monthly newsletter always has the newest releases and other great suggestions.

Reviews: After you finish a book it will ask you to rate the book and give a review. This is helpful when you are picking a book to read as well because you can see reviews and ratings in one place.

Challenges: I love a good personal challenge and you can do that for your reading on the Goodreads app. Set how many books you want to read for the year. Log each book as you finish and it will tell you how close you are to your goal and if you are ahead or behind. Even better you will get a recap of all your reading at the end of the year.

Want To Read List: Whether your just starting your reading journey or you have a never ending list like me this is a great feature. You can store all the books you want to read and when you need a new book to read you just check the list and pick your next book! It's that simple and keeps you organized, easy to access and ready for your next pick.

Follow Friends: Just like any other social media platform you can follow friends. See what there reading what books they enjoyed and what they didn't and what is on there want to read list.

No matter where you are on your reading journey Goodreads is a great app that manages your reading.
