From favorite to least favorite.

2023 was my year of reading and I read 23 books almost double what I read in 2022. Showing just how far I've come in my reading journey. I thought I would rank everything I read over the last year from favorite to least favorite.

  1. Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenks Reid: Taylor Jenks Reid is one of my favorite authors and this book did not disappoint. With the book written as an interview of a rock band in the 1970s, I couldn't put it down.

  1. A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman: With Fredrick Backman as another favorite author I loved this book. It was a feel-good story that I didn't want to end.

  2. Vacationland by Meg Mitchell Moore: This book is a great summer read told from two different perspectives with lots of twists and turns.

  3. Maybe In Another Life by Taylor Jenks Reid: Another Taylor Jenks Reid book I couldn't put down that was a light-hearted read that had me rooting for the main character.

  4. Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenks Reid: This book had familiar characters from some of Reid's other books throughout the plot that had me invested in the story.

  5. Brittney Spears The Woman in Me: As a '90s and early 2000s kid I loved this memoir and all the pop history it had to offer while giving insight into the pop princess's life and struggles.

  6. Happy Place by Emily Henry: I was a little reluctant to read this one since People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry was not one of my favorites, but after hearing from several people how good it was this was my last book of the year and I liked the rom-com storyline.

  7. Romantic Comedy by Curtis Sittenfeld: About a fictitious Saturday Night Live set during the pandemic I found myself rooting for the main character throughout the entire book.

  8. Business is Personal by Bethenny Frankel: Yes, my guilty pleasure is reading books by reality stars and this book had me ready to take on the world by the end.

  9. The Truth About Horses by Christy Cashman: As someone who is not a horse person I was unsure about this one but fell in love with the story and found myself invested in the characters the whole way through.

  10. What Happened To Ruthy Ramirez by Claire Jimenez: I had higher hopes for this book but was still a good mystery I enjoyed.

  11. Lessons In Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus: I know people loved this book, and while I thought it was good it was not my favorite of the year.

  12. Educated by Tara Westover: This book has been around for a long time and I'm just reading it now. It was a good memoir that had me wanting more.

  13. Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano: This may be an unpopular opinion while I enjoyed this book I found it slow at times and tough to get through.

  14. Just Tyrus: A Memoir by Tyrus: A memoir that was interesting and a quick read.

  15. Save What's Left by Elizabeth Castellano: A funny and light-hearted read following the characters through twists and turns while they start over in a beach town.

  16. Anxious People by Fredrick Backman: Fredrick Baucman is one of my favorite authors but I had a hard time with this book. I was disappointed at times and had a hard time getting through it. The zany characters throughout the story I had a love hate relationship with.

  17. Off With My Head: The Definitive Basic B*tch Hand Book to Surviving Rock Bottom by Stassi Schroeder: Another reality star book. I didn't like this one as much as her first book and I'm not sure I was ready to relive the highs and lows of the pandemic all over again.

  18. The $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau: A Self-help book for all of us entrepreneurs looking to do something new.

  19. One Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle: Time travel and fantasy is not my favorite genre and the time travel in this book left me confused and overall not loving the book.

  20. Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin: While a good business book the stories about military strategies lost my interest and made the book drag.

  21. Spare by Prince Harry: While I enjoyed the stories from behind the scenes of the royal family and about Princess Diana the middle part of the book about Harry's days in the military were long and drawn out making the book slow.

  22. Night Road by Kristin Hannah: This is the first Kristin Hannah book I've read all the way through since I have a tough time getting through her books. I found this story to be long and drawn out along with depressing at times.

And there you have my 2023 reading list from favorite to least favorite. How many of these have you read?
