A fun read!

Mrs. Nash's Ashes by Sarah Adler is a fun quirky read with a love story. Millicent (Millie) Watts Cohen is fresh off her breakup and losing her best friend Mrs. Nash her elderly neighbor who she moved in with after the painful breakup. Millie makes a promise to her late friend Mrs. Nash to find out what happened to her true love that she had lost touch with Elsie Brown.

On her way to Key West to complete this mission Millie runs into Hollis Hollenbeck her exes' frenemy and as all flights are grounded due to a computer glitch we see the two kick off their adventurous road trip. Millie is on her way to Key West and Hollis is to Miami for his annual hook-up with an old flame.

Millie is quirky and annoying and as much as I wanted to be annoyed by the redhead former child star I couldn't help but like her she owns who she is and knows who she is which makes her likable. Millie is an optimist who believes in true love and is ready to prove this even if it hasn't happened to her. Meanwhile, Hollis Hollenbeck is a pessimist who doesn't believe in love or trust many people.

The two make an interesting combination for the road trip in a typical rom-com scenario. This book will keep you engaged and the adventures and ups and downs will have you wanting more of the pair. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this book and invested in the characters, feeling their pain from past relationships, and rooting for them as a team.

As a bonus to this story, we get to take a step back in time and see Mrs. Nash and Elsie's story unfold over the years and how they always held one another close no matter the distance between them.

The book has a positive message about self-love, knowing yourself, vulnerability, and love. Mrs. Nash's Ashes has something for everyone in it and is a great book. The novel is quirky, funny, a love story, and will have you smiling till the end.
