Whodunnit.

Book Review for Mother-Daughter Murder Night by Nina Simon

After a couple of heavier, longer books, I was ready for a funny, light book, so I decided to listen to Mother-Daughter Murder Night by Nina Simon. The summary has everything for a fun, light whodunnit murder mystery, and what I was looking for.

Unfortunately, it was far from what I was looking for and what I thought it would be. It was slow, and dragged out, and wasn't a light read.

The Rubicon women Lana (grandmother), Beth ( mother), and Jack (granddaughter/ daughter) all have different ways of handling things and different outlooks on life.

When Lana is forced to move in with Beth and Jack after her cancer diagnosis, she loses a little bit of herself from not being able to work.

When she arrives at Beth and Jack's, there has been a murder in the small town they live in and Jack has been framed for the murder. Lana quickly pours herself into the case, launching her investigation much to Beth's disagreement.

The story is bogged down with a random cast of characters that don't seem to fit into the story, and the complication of the multiple characters and their role and the overall mystery just didn't work and left me uninterested. The characters were also unrelatable and fell flat throughout the story. I couldn't pick one, I liked or was excited to hear their perspective.

Mother -Daughter Murder Night by Nina Simon has so much potential and falls short in more than one way. This is a whodunnit mystery you can pass on.
